MARKETS BET THAT THE WORST IS OVER

MARKETS continued to rally yesterday after a wave of upbeat corporate news and positive economic data lifted hopes that the worst of the UK recession may be over.

The TFSE 100 closed up 1.4pc or 59.56 points at 4396.49. At one point during trading it reached a high of 4437.61, wiping out all of the falls in 2009.
